Omoi wo Megurasu 100 no Jisho
By Gelzone Unsas
「想いを巡らす100の事象」, from EGOIST—the ‘virtual’ band born from the anime Guilty Crown—holds a special place in my journey. Chelly’s voice is probably my favorite among all singers. There’s something about it that just resonates deep. When I learned about the band disbanding, I knew I had to pay tribute to what they meant to me.
About EGOIST
EGOIST was formed in 2011 during the production of the anime series Guilty Crown. The band was canonically featured in the anime itself—meaning whoever was chosen as the singer would also provide the singing voice for the main female lead, Yuzuriha Inori. Out of about two thousand candidates, a then seventeen-year-old girl under the name Chelly was chosen. The project was unique in that it bridged the fictional and real world—Chelly would perform live concerts as EGOIST while also voicing a character on screen.

What started as a character in an anime became a real musical project that captivated fans worldwide. Their discography spans years of beautiful tracks, and Chelly’s vocals became iconic in the anime music scene.

Edit from the future (2023): It’s a bit of a sad time for me. Just this past Monday Oct 9th, the JPop duo EGOIST disbanded after twelve years of activity.
About the Arrangement
For this one, I went for a chill studio recording setup—clean, warm, and intimate. The kind of vibe where you can just sit back and let the music wash over you. I used anime clips from Guilty Crown to keep the tribute authentic.
You might’ve noticed I’ve been wearing this cross necklace for over a decade now. It’s become part of me at this point. The cross itself? Bought it for a dollar in China. But the necklace chain? That was passed down from my grandma. So even though it started as a cheap accessory, it carries serious sentimental weight.
One of my favorite additions in this arrangement is the kalimba—it gives the whole piece this soothing, gentle percussive quality. Combined with some audio panning techniques, it creates this spacious, immersive feel that I really dig.
Hope you enjoy this one as much as I do. EGOIST and Chelly—truely the ones that got me started with my whole music interest and career.
